Singapore Airlines (SIA) has announced the launch of four-times weekly non-stop services between Singapore and Riyadh, marking its return to the Saudi Arabian capital after a prolonged absence. The new route will start on June 2, 2026, pending regulatory approvals, strengthening air links between Southeast Asia and the Middle East.

Flight Schedule and Aircraft Details

Singapore Airlines will deploy its medium-haul Airbus A350-900, offering a two-class configuration with 40 Business Class seats and 263 Economy Class seats, catering to both premium and leisure travellers.

Under the proposed schedule, flight SQ498 will depart Singapore at 6:20 p.m. local time every Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday, arriving in Riyadh later the same day. The return service, SQ499, will leave Riyadh at 11 p.m. local time on the same days, providing convenient overnight connectivity back to Singapore.

The Airbus A350-900 medium-haul variant is designed to deliver enhanced fuel efficiency, improved cabin comfort and reduced noise levels, aligning with Singapore Airlines’ focus on operational excellence and passenger experience.

Tickets for the new service will be released progressively through Singapore Airlines’ official distribution channels, once regulatory clearances are secured.

Strategic Importance of Riyadh

Singapore Airlines’ chief commercial officer Lee Lik Hsin said the airline’s return to Riyadh reflects Saudi Arabia’s rapid transformation and growing global relevance.

“Riyadh’s thriving business environment and ambitious development make it one of the Middle East’s most dynamic cities. Beyond a new destination, this service will potentially allow us to work with our partners to offer customers additional travel options across the region”

Riyadh will become the SIA Group’s second destination in Saudi Arabia, complementing SIA’s low-cost subsidiary, Scoot’s four-times weekly services to Jeddah, and reinforcing the group’s long-term commitment to the country.

Boost for Tourism and Business Travel

As Saudi Arabia’s capital and financial hub, Riyadh offers visitors access to historic landmarks such as Diriyah and Masmak Fortress, alongside modern attractions including luxury hotels, museums and an expanding dining and retail scene.

The new non-stop route is expected to benefit business travellers, expatriates and tourists, while supporting growing trade and investment ties between Singapore and Saudi Arabia.
