Scandinavian Airlines (SAS) and the Romanian airline, TAROM, have entered a new commercial codeshare agreement, strengthening their cooperation. This partnership expands connectivity between Scandinavia and Romania, offering seamless travel options via major European hubs.

Connecting the Nordic Regions with Romania

SAS has signed a new codeshare agreement with TAROM, widening connectivity between the Nordic region and Romania with the launch aligning with the first travel data of Feb. 9, 2026.

Under the new agreement, SAS customers will be able to book TAROM-operated flights between Bucharest and hubs such as Amsterdam, Brussels, Frankfurt, and Prague, then connect onward on SAS services to Copenhagen, Oslo and Stockholm.

TAROM will also place its code on these SAS sectors, simplifying journeys between Romania and Scandinavia.

Paul Verhagen, EVP and Chief Commercial Officer at SAS, notes:

“This new partnership with TAROM marks an important step in enhancing connectivity between Scandinavia and Romania. By combining our networks and offering smooth transfers via key European hubs, we are giving our customers more choice, flexibility, and convenience across their journeys. Together with TAROM, we look forward to delivering a seamless and reliable travel experience for all passengers.”

Strengthening Copenhagen as a global hub

The codeshare partnership supports the Scandinavian Airlines’ broader network strategy by making it easier for travellers in Bucharest to connect via SAS’ main hubs in Copenhagen, Stockholm, and Oslo.

Linking TAROM’s local network with SAS’ intra-Scandinavian and wider European services, means that the cooperation strengthens passenger flows into SAS’ existing hubs and improves connectivity across both airlines’ European networks.

SAS’ operational reliability adds further value to the partnership. In 2025, SAS was repeatedly ranked among the most punctual airlines in the world, highlighting the airline’s commitment to dependable and predictable operations for travellers across its network.

Passengers travelling on these codeshare services will also benefit from SAS’ ongoing investment in the onboard experience.

This includes the rollout of high-speed Starlink Wi-Fi across SAS-operated flights. These improvements ensure a smoother, more connected journey whenever the route includes segments flown by SAS, while the broader cooperation with TAROM provides seamless travel across both networks.
