Royal Brunei to Launch non-stop service to London Gatwick

On July 22, Royal Brunei is set to launch its non-stop operations from Brunei to the United Kingdom, making it the UK’s second-longest non-stop flight. Royal Brunei will join the list of Air Sierra Leone, Uganda Airlines, Gulf Air, and Kenya Airways, which have such long operations from London’s Gatwick Airport.

Royal Brunei’s Tuesday-only service to Gatwick

According to MSN, Royal Brunei’s nonstop flight will temporarily operate only on Tuesdays. Additionally, the alternative is the thrice-weekly Bandar-Dubai-Heathrow service. Royal Brunei has been serving Heathrow Airport for the past 34 years.

Royal Brunei Airlines is the flag carrier of Brunei, with its headquarters at the RB Campus in Bandar Seri Begawan, the capital of Brunei.

Formed with just two Boeing 737-200, serving Singapore, Hong Kong, Kota Kinabalu and Kuching, Royal Brunei Airlines now serves up to 32 destinations in South East Asia.

Which are the longest operating flights to the UK?

Including the one-stop services :

  • Sydney-Singapore-Heathrow with British Airways/Qantas has up to 24 hours and 45 minutes of service time.
  • Bandar-Dubai-Heathrow with Royal Brunei, up to 18 hours and 25 minutes
  • Taipei-Bangkok-Heathrow with EVA Air, up to 18 hours and 5 minutes
  • Perth- Heathrow with Qantas Airways, up to 17 hours and 30 minutes
  • Haikou-Changsha- Heathrow with Hainan Airlines, up to 17 hours and 25 minutes

Meanwhile, Royal Brunei’s non-stop operation to Gatwick is ranked sixth.
