Passengers travelling through Edinburgh Airport now have another dining option before take-off, as popular restaurant chain Giraffe has officially opened a brand-new location inside the terminal. The casual dining restaurant has launched near Gate 6 at Scotland’s busiest airport, bringing an extensive all-day menu inspired by global cuisine.

New Dining Experience for Travellers

Travellers can expect everything from Asian street food to American-style burgers, alongside breakfast dishes and lighter grab-and-go options.

The new restaurant features seating for 179 guests and has been designed to cater to a wide range of passengers, including families, leisure travellers, and business passengers. Alongside the full-service restaurant, the airport has also introduced “Giraffe Stop”, a takeaway concept allowing travellers to quickly pick up meals and snacks before boarding.

According to airport officials, the opening is part of a wider effort to improve food and beverage choices throughout the terminal as passenger numbers continue to rise ahead of the busy summer travel season.

Stephanie Wear, chief commercial officer at Edinburgh Airport, said: “We know passengers want greater choice and flexibility when travelling, so expanding our food and drink offering is an important part of improving the overall airport experience.”

Edinburgh Airport Expands Food and Retail Offering

The opening of Giraffe follows several recent additions to Edinburgh Airport’s growing retail and hospitality portfolio. Over the past year, the airport has introduced brands including PizzaExpress, Seoul Bird, and Icons Sports Bar as part of a broader refresh of its passenger experience.

Airport operators have increasingly focused on improving pre-flight dining and retail experiences, with many UK airports investing heavily in upgraded lounges, restaurants, and shopping facilities to attract travellers seeking more convenience and comfort before departure.

The latest addition further highlights Edinburgh Airport’s continued investment in expanding its hospitality offering as passenger demand remains strong in 2026.

As airports continue evolving beyond simple transport hubs, dining concepts such as Giraffe are becoming a key part of the passenger journey. With both sit-down dining and quick takeaway options now available, travellers passing through Edinburgh Airport can enjoy greater choice before heading to their destinations.
