An aircraft engineer fell from the rear-end of the Jet2 aircraft he was operating on at Manchester Airport (MAN), on April 11. Paramedics rushed to the scene, treating the man for serious injuries. A full investigation into the incident has been launched.

Multiple Injuries
The unnamed man appeared to have been contracted by Jet2 under a third-party provider to operate on the Jet2 aircraft. After falling from a great height around 8 a.m. local time, the man suffered arm and leg fractures, among many other injuries. While the injuries are serious, they are not life threatening or changing, as of current belief. The man continues to be treated in the hospital.
Some witnesses to the scene described the treatment of the man by the paramedics on the airfield. They spoke on the screens put around the man on the scene. A MAN spokesperson described the scene to The Mirror, stating that ambulances arrived before the man was moved to the hospital.
This is not the first incident involving a fall from an aircraft. In December 2025, an engineer at Heathrow Airport (LHR) fell from a British Airways jet, descending 20 feet and suffering serious injuries.

Full investigation launched
A spokesperson for Jet2 stated that the company is launching an investigation into the incident and added that the company is aiming to support those involved, saying:
“We are aware of an incident that took place at Manchester Airport this morning involving an individual from a third-party provider. We are unable to confirm further details at present, however, can confirm that a full investigation has been launched.”
The Greater Manchester Police gave confirmation of their awareness of the situation.
