Lufthansa announced its plan to relaunch its nonstop flight from Munich to Riyadh, the capital of Saudi Arabia, from Oct. 26.
Lufthansa Expands Saudi Arabia Network with New Direct Route
Lufthansa recently released its schedule for relaunching flights to connect Munich and Riyadh, the capital of Saudi Arabia, three times per week from Oct. 26.
Notably, Lufthansa is celebrating the 65th anniversary of its first flight to Saudi Arabia this year.
While adding the newly relaunched flight, Lufthansa, Eurowings and ITA Airways, three airlines from the Lufthansa Group, will be flying to Riyadh, Dammam and Jeddah together.
The Lufthansa Group airlines is expected to offer 22 weekly flights to Saudi Arabia in future for the travellers.
In total, the Lufthansa Group airlines will fly to the region more than 120 times a week.
Riyadh – A Growing Hub of Culture, Pilgrimage, and Global Events
Riyadh is the capital of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, with about eight million people living in the city. The city is situated in the interior of the country and surrounded by desert.
The city has been the capital of Saudi Arabia since the country’s independence in 1932. It is also a crucial stopover on the pilgrimage routes to Mecca and Medina, the most important pilgrimage sites in Islam.
Expectably, Riyadh will host various events, including Saudi Arabia’s largest festival, the annual ‘Riyadh Season’ in winter, the Expo 2030, and the 2034 men’s football World Cup.
Flight Details and Aircraft Information
The flight will operate with Airbus A350-900, with 293 seats in three classes.
The flight from Munich to Riyadh is scheduled to depart from Munich at 9:45 p.m. with flight number LH640 and is expected to land in Riyadh at 4:50 a.m. local time the following day.
The return flight from Riyadh to Munich is expected to depart from Riyadh at 6:25 a.m. and arrive in Munich at 10:25 a.m.
