The On-Board Experience on This Flight

As this was a historic occasion for Jet2, passengers who booked tickets on this flight were treated to VIP service. The service itself included a red-carpet welcome and the handing out of personalised gifts.

Jet2 CEO Steve Heapy distributed gifts, including a 7-night stay in Majorca for one lucky passenger and return flights for the first 10 checked-in passengers. In addition, a Flamenco band named Mi Flamenco provided live music throughout the flight to entertain the passengers further.

Steve Heapy, Jet2 CEO, had this to say regarding the celebrations:

This is an incredibly exciting day for Jet2.com and Jet2holidays, as we expand our award-winning flights and holidays to our 12th UK airport base at Bournemouth Airport. We are extremely excited to see our inaugural flight take off, and celebrations were definitely in the air as we marked this important milestone with customers at the very heart of the celebrations.

A Positive Future for Bournemouth Jet2 Flights

This first flight for Jet2 from Bournemouth marks the beginning of a programme of more destinations this airport will serve. These include destinations in Spain, Turkey, and Greece, where regular weekly services will be provided.

The introduction of these Jet2 flights has also proven to provide advantages for employability, as CEO of RCA, Regional and City Airports, Andrew Bell, explains:

The arrival of Jet2.com and Jet2holidays, alongside our wider route development initiatives, has acted as a catalyst for new employment opportunities and a multimillion-pound investment in our airport infrastructure and facilities. These ongoing enhancements ensure we are ready to embrace a period of exciting growth while continuing to deliver a first-class experience for passengers.
