Maintenance Technicians

This marks IndiGo’s first-ever all-women batch of maintenance technicians, and according to the airline, it marks a significant step in its Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion journey as the airline aims to create equal opportunities in technical roles across aviation.

The airline stated that the engineering department plays a crucial role in its fleet of over 400 aircraft, ensuring that the highest standards of safety, quality, and reliability are achieved. The 33 all-female maintenance technicians recently underwent a week-long induction programme that featured senior leaders, contributing to their growth in skill and ensuring the highest level of quality in the airline’s journey to become the best.

With a percentage of 16.2% in female pilots and 44.8% in overall female employees, IndiGo intends to shape a future where more women are able to step into technical roles and leadership positions. The airline has one of the highest numbers of female pilots worldwide.
