Five years since the covid epidemic, aviation has come back stronger than ever with the complete digitalisation of travel creating quick, seamless and universally accessible adventures a few clicks away.

How London Heathrow is using modern technology to its advantage

This new digital era of travel has definitely presented itself 2025. London Heathrow superseded an astonishing 84million passengers and travel itself has become more efficient with 97% of passengers waiting less than five minutes in security.

In 2024 the aviation industry can be said to have completely recovered from the covid 19 epidemic with the amount of people travelling in 2025 far exceeding 2019 figures.

Why have airlines gone digital?

There are a number of factors which contribute to this, but highly significantly is the ease and universal accessibility of travel, which is encouraging younger people to travel much earlier.

According to the International Airport Travel Association this new digital era of travel is the future. Travellers have the option of spontaneity and last-minute bookings which we have learned in an ever-changing age is more important than ever.

 The use of AI and technology in aviation

There has been a wave of consumerism when it comes to new travel gadgets most famously being air tags, smarter and ergonomic ways to pack, apps which ensure you can have data the minute you arrive in a new country, as well as translation glasses.

This makes travel, easy, far less daunting and available to everyone. The surge in digital nomads and being able to earn an income anywhere is unsurprising given this new innovation in travel, especially with the emergence of AI, you can create yourself a budget friendly travel itinerary is seconds. Thus, this digital era of travel will only grow, and it is important that we all embrace it.
