Air Canada has announced the provision of fast and free Wi-Fi for Aeroplan Members flying to and from North America, Mexico and the Caribbean. This service has been sponsored by Bell and enables high speed connections that allow video streaming, gaming and more.

Free In-flight Wi-Fi on Air Canada
Air Canada has expanded their in-flight services with the inclusion of free Wi-Fi for Aeroplan Members, increasing connectivity and communication. Complimentary and high quality Wi-Fi is available on Air Canada flights across North America, and to and from Mexico and the Caribbean.
Telecommunications provider, Bell has collaborated with Air Canada to offer free in-flight texting for Aeroplan Members since 2023, and has now strengthened their partnership to sponsor Wi-Fi services. This progression will provide high speed Wi-Fi to passengers that allows video streaming, gaming, and more on personal devices.
Wi-Fi certification and installations are expected to start on the Embraer E175 fleet and the De Havilland Q400s that serve Billy Bishop Airport (YTZ) later this year. These developments will mark a large step forward in global connectivity, being the first Wi-Fi offering on any Q400 aircraft and Air Canada being the first carrier to offer in-flight Wi-Fi to and from Billy Bishop.
Mark Nasr, Executive Vice President and Chief Operations at Air Canada, has stated:
“Quality connectivity has become indispensable for all travelers. Starting today we’re thrilled to offer complimentary Wi-Fi on North American, Mexican and Caribbean flights for Aeroplan Members, by partnering with Bell. This initiative underscores Air Canada’s focus on elevating the customer experience, with leadership in providing streaming quality connectivity, at a pace unmatched by other airlines — at home and around the world. We now offer Wi-Fi on 88 per cent of our fleet, with the remaining installations to be completed by early 2026. This will include an industry first with the upcoming launch of Wi-Fi on Air Canada Express Q400s serving Toronto’s Billy Bishop Airport.”
Blaik Kirby, Group President, Consumer and Small Business at Bell, has also said:
“At Bell, we’re focused on delivering exceptional experiences that help Canadians stay connected wherever they are. We’ve proudly sponsored in-flight Wi-Fi for Aeroplan Members since 2023, starting with free texting. Now, we’re thrilled to help take that experience to the next level – enabling streaming, gaming and more from gate to gate. Whether it’s in the air or around the world with our popular roaming plans in over 230 destinations, Bell is helping customers stay connected on their terms.”
To access the free Wi-Fi, passengers only need to ensure their Aeroplan number is captured at the time or booking, or added prior to completing check-in, and connect to the in-flight Wi-Fi network when onboard. Customers who are not yet Aeroplan Members can join free of charge, and those without a membership will be able to purchase Wi-Fi during their flight at a flat rate.
In addition to this, Air Canada is further working to upgrade their offerings to simultaneously enhance customer experience and modernise their services. This includes the provision of complimentary in-flight entertainment and Live TV where available; complimentary premium snacks, beer and wine on select flights; and real-time baggage tracking, digital identification and more on the airline’s mobile app. During the course of 2025, Air Canada also aims to expand its lounge network, adding over five-hundred seats being around the world. These development efforts will continue onward into 2026, with the airline’s goal of expanding their fast and free Wi-Fi for Aeroplan Members to international flights.
