Emirates’ new £10 million lounge at Manchester Airport has opened at Terminal 2. Manchester Airport is the UK’s first to feature Emirates’ elevated lounge design, with over 50 design enhancements. This is demonstrated through the ‘Made in Manchester’ theme regarding cooking, relaxation and productivity zones. Customers benefit from direct lounge-to-aircraft boarding.
The Emirates lounge experience at Manchester Airport
The Emirates lounge is designed with close attention to detail, including Italian eco-leather seats, wireless charging and universal power access for each seat along with updated flooring and the renowned Emirates scent.
On the walls of the Emirates lounge, design details have been taken care of. This is demonstrated through artefacts which highlight global artists and Emirati culture. This is complemented by Rolex clocks, reflecting the brand’s longstanding partnership with Emirates, which display different time zones. This way, customers can feel at ease and psychologically prepare themselves for the flight ahead.
The focus on updated facilities is further emphasised by upgraded shower suites, a quiet zone designed for sleep and prayer rooms to meet religious requirements. Also, Emirates says it is the only airline that allows direct lounge-to-aircraft boarding.
Manchester-inspired dining and global flavours
As part of the upgraded lounge experience, food and drink have been creatively reimagined based on live cooking and theatrical dining. This involves freshly prepared à la minute dishes and finely crafted coffee at the barista bar. In terms of beverages, a dedicated mixologist serves cocktails and mocktails based on the Made in Manchester brand identity and theme.
The Made in Manchester theme also extends to more elaborate dishes including seafood and meat and potato pie as well as fresh cheese. The menu is complemented by a choice of global cuisine.
