Emirates has announced a partnership which will make them the Official Partner of Women’s Rugby World Cup 2025, a tournament which will kick off on August 22 in England. The airline will continue its support with match officiating at this year’s games.

Another Year Supporting Rugby

This year, the airline will support the match officiating during the Women’s Rugby World Cup, with the sponsorship of the World Rugby Match Officials. Both organisations will help encourage and advance the growth and development of top-tier match officials and women’s officials during pinnacle competitions. The competition will see all players wearing the Emirates ‘Fly Better’ kits across all matches.

The continued partnership reaffirms the airline’s commitment to advancing the sport of rugby as well as increasing the growth and visibility of women’s sports. This is not the only sport in the airline’s rolodex as Emirates also becomes a sponsor of this year’s Wimbledon Championships, and has partnered with Al Ain FC for the FIFA World Cup 2025.

Emirates has advocated for the game of rugby since 1987 and has expanded its support to include six consecutive Rugby World Cups from 2007 to 2027. The airline has supported HSBC Cape Town 7s and Emirates Dubai 7s for nearly 40 years. It’s also the sponsor of Asia Rugby and the UAE Rugby Federation, supporting men’s and women’s national teams, as well as the local club Dubai Hurricanes Rugby. Emirates has shown its support of women’s sport across rugby, tennis, netball, cricket, and football.

World Rugby Chief Revenue Officer, Michel Poussau, has said:

“Emirates has been a trusted and long-standing partner of World Rugby and our pinnacle competitions for nearly two decades, and we’re proud to extend this enduring relationship into the groundbreaking Women’s Rugby World Cup 2025. Their continued commitment to supporting our match officials plays a crucial role in upholding excellence on the field. This partnership reflects not only our shared values, but also our collective ambition to elevate rugby on the global stage.”

New Audiences for Emirates

Women’s rugby has risen significantly in the last couple of years, and once again partnering with the World Cup will allow Emirates to engage with new fan bases from newer generations, alongside showing their long-standing commitment to women’s sports.

Sir Tim Clark, President of Emirates Airlines, has said:

“We’re excited to partner with World Rugby as an Official Partner and Airline of Women’s Rugby World Cup 2025. Women’s rugby is flourishing globally, and Emirates’ significant investment expands our presence and supports rugby’s growth. Making the sport accessible to everyone is part of our commitment to creating long-lasting impact, stronger connections with fans and unlocking possibilities through the power of sport.”

As a part of this partnership, the airline will enjoy marketing exposure across the Women’s Rugby World Cup social channels, on-ground activations, and ticketing and hospitality benefits. They will also receive in-stadium branding across all 32 World Cup 2025 matches.
