EasyJet launched its inaugural flight from Glasgow Airport (GLA) to Rome Fiumicino Airport (FCO) on the morning of Feb. 2, 2026. The flight will now operate up to four times weekly, allowing Scots to reach the Italian capital with ease.

From Scotland to the Sistine Chapel

The city of Rome has much to offer travellers from all over the world, from authentic cuisine to awe-inspiring history and a welcoming culture. Now, a short-haul flight is all it takes for Glaswegians to experience the Trevi Fountain, the Colosseum, the Vatican and much more. Between world-famous landmarks, iconic works of art and local food at every corner, passengers are sure to find something to enjoy in the Eternal City.

Similarly, Italian passengers now have yet another route to explore the natural beauty and unique architecture offered by Glasgow and the surrounding area, with Edinburgh, Scotland’s capital city, just a short train or bus ride away.

Kevin Doyle, easyJet’s U.K. country manager, said:

“Our new service from Glasgow to Rome Fiumicino offers customers a convenient link to one of Europe’s most historic cities. Whether they want to explore the rich history of the Eternal City and its iconic landmarks or enjoy world-class cuisine, Rome has something for everyone. In our 30th year we remain committed to making travel easy by continuing to offer greater choice and exceptional value across our unrivalled network.”

Glasgow Gears Up for 30 Years with EasyJet

EasyJet celebrated its 30th anniversary in November 2025. Since its first-ever flight from London Luton Airport to Glasgow three decades ago, Glasgow Airport has expanded into one of the low-cost airline’s major hubs, serving dozens of domestic and international destinations. One of four airports served by easyJet in Scotland, Glasgow forms part of easyJet’s network of over 1,000 routes in more than 35 countries across the U.K., continental Europe and North Africa.

Gavin Birch-Williams, managing director of Glasgow Airport, said:

“Today’s inaugural flight to Rome marks another exciting milestone for Glasgow Airport and further strengthens our long standing relationship with easyJet. This new service opens up even more choice for our passengers, offering direct access to one of Europe’s most iconic and culturally rich cities.

“We’re delighted to see easyJet continue to invest in Glasgow, and we look forward to working together to ensure this route is a great success for our passengers and for the region.”

Tickets are available and start from £20.49, according to the airline.
