Delta Air Lines is set to relaunch its SkyMiles Experiences platform, offering members access to exclusive, once-in-a-lifetime events and activities that go beyond traditional travel rewards. The revamped program, launching Nov. 18, allows members to redeem or bid their SkyMiles for curated experiences across a variety of interests, from culinary delights to cultural events.

Originally launched in 2016, SkyMiles Experiences has been updated to reflect evolving consumer preferences. The new digital platform offers a higher volume of culturally relevant options and enables members to either bid on or instantly purchase experiences using their miles.

“Being a SkyMiles Member is about more than traveling from place to place – it’s about being part of an exclusive ecosystem of opportunities tailored to your ambitions,” said Dwight James, Delta’s senior vice president of customer engagement and loyalty, adding:

“With Delta’s new SkyMiles Experiences platform, we are bringing even more value to our Members while providing creative opportunities that inspire them to explore, discover and connect – even when they’re not flying with us.”

What’s New in SkyMiles Experiences

The updated program organizes offerings into five categories: Music & Film, Sports, Culinary, Wellness & Adventure, and Fashion, Art & Design. New experiences will be added biweekly, some available for immediate purchase with miles and others offered through an auction format.

While the SkyMiles Experiences website is accessible to everyone, only SkyMiles members can log in to bid on or redeem miles for these offerings. Each experience is categorized into collections, with some opportunities available as multiple packages.

Sample Experiences

Delta has partnered with high-profile brands and organizations to craft unique experiences for members, such as:

  • Starbucks VIP Tour: A behind-the-scenes look at the original Starbucks in Seattle’s Pike Place Market, including coffee tasting and roasting with a Starbucks coffee master.
  • Rockettes Dance Workshop: A private dance class with Rockettes performers, followed by tickets to the iconic Christmas Spectacular at Radio City Music Hall.
  • Hilton Ultimate Stays: Packages at luxury properties like the Waldorf Astoria Monarch Beach and Conrad Orlando, featuring private dinners and immersive mixology classes.

“Delta is committed to showing our Members that we are innovating beyond the travel journey,” said Alicia Tillman, Delta’s chief marketing officer. “Access to curated experiences, events, and rewards outside of the flight allows us to offer something that resonates with their lifestyle. This isn’t just about rewarding travel – it’s about rewarding a journey that touches every aspect of our Members’ lives.”
