A project to introduce a brand new airport in Poland, Centralny Port Komunikacyjny, is set to be completed by 2032. Situated between Poland’s capital city, Warsaw, and Łódź, the airport will become available for around 34 million passengers annually.

A Brief Insight to this Ambitious Project

The main goal of this project is for Poland to become more recognisable as a travel hub for European flights. The money inputted to this project, estimated to be around £26,000,000,000, supports this goal.

It will help to fund two parallel runways, a modern passenger terminal, a railway station, and a bus station connecting the airport to Warsaw and beyond. The nearby A2 motorway will also be expanded so that accessibility to the airport will be increased further.

The project’s payment is set to be completed by the end of the 2024-25 financial year. The erection of this new airport will then begin in 2026, and the hectares of land required for it have been secured to ensure its completion.

Dariusz Klimczak, Poland’s Minister of Infrastructure, had this to say about the project:

“We now have the location decision for building of the most modern airport in Europe. This is a critical step in the CPK project, and we are ready to move forward with construction.”

An Exciting Development with Plenty of Positives

The new airport’s introduction is set to mark the beginning of a new era for local and international travel. It also highlights the modernity of European airports as well as they are keeping up with these present times.

The high-speed underground railway network included in this project will also enhance the connections made across Poland.

This project will implement approximately 150,000 jobs, and as such will increase employability while ensuring it is delivered on time.
