Aviator Airport Alliance (Aviator) has announced a new ground handling contract with Vietnam Airlines at Copenhagen Airport. The aviation service provider will assist the airline in launching their first direct route between Northern Europe and Vietnam.

Vietnam Airlines’ first direct flight to Northern Europe

While the airline already provides direct services to Western European countries such as France and Germany, this partnership with Aviator will mark the first direct route between Northern Europe and Vietnam for the airline. The service itself will run three times per week, and the flight will last just under 12 hours. This partnership will certainly be good news to customers who would prefer to avoid a layover. Moreover, for such long-distance flights, cooperation is essential, as Head of Commercial Denmark at Aviator, Linus Olofsson notes,

“Long-haul operations require seamless coordination on the ground, and we are proud that Vietnam Airlines has chosen Aviator as its ground handling and de-icing partner in Copenhagen.”

Important Partnership for a New Venture

Vietnam Airlines has stated that it plans to navigate the route using its Boeing 787 fleet. These aircraft operate a two-class configuration, which means that flyers can reserve either Business class or Economy class seats for the flight. Essentially, while the airline will provide the aircraft, Aviator will deal with ground handling and de-icing at Copenhagen airport, a necessity due to Denmark’s sometimes very cold weather. The Station Manager of the airline, Nguyen Tien Long, has also drawn attention to this particular aspect of Aviation’s services, stating that:

“Superior ground handling is pivotal to the success of a new long-haul operation. Aviator’s expertise ensures the seamless reliability we demand from day one.”
