American Airlines premium economy service has now been expanded to its New York to Los Angeles transcontinental route commencing from October 2025.

Premium economy class service extends across transcontinental route

Starting in autumn 2025, long-haul domestic route from New York to Los Angeles will now offer a premium economy service for travellers, prioritising extra comfort when flying with American Airlines (AA).

Heather Garboden, AA’s Chief Customer Officer celebrates the new class service on the New York to Los Angeles route. “We are excited to provide customers the opportunity to experience our Premium Economy Service on our premier domestic route.” She highlights the elevated dining experiences and the chance for customers to indulge in complimentary drinks on their travel.

The premium service will commence on select flights between New York John F. Kennedy (JFK) Airport and Los Angeles Airport (LAX) starting from Oct. 5.

American Airlines premium economy class benefits and advantages

AA’s premium economy service is an enhanced travel option for passengers looking for elevated comfort when travelling long distance. The airline provides advantages for those looking to enhance their travel, such as priority check in and speedy boarding privileges.

A premium economy ticket provides diverse range of amenities such as: wider seats and more leg room, free on-flight entertainment, chef-inspired dining, Wi-Fi connectivity and USB/power outlet access, and a premium kit which includes branded beauty products. On select widebody transcontinental flying, international flights, and Hawaii flights premium bedding is available to make on-flight rest the most comfortable it can be.

AA provides a Loyalty and Benefits award scheme for eligible passengers, where customers can enjoy: priority check in, security, Group 4 boarding, first bag checked free and same-day standby priority.
