Latvian airline airBaltic is celebrating 30 years of direct service between its home base of Riga, Latvia and Copenhagen, Denmark. The route, which launched in January 1996, was the airline’s third direct service.

Convenient and Reliable Travel Options
The airline’s first two commercial routes, from Riga to Stockholm, Sweden and Helsinki, Finland were launched in October 1995.
airBaltic now runs up to three daily flights between Riga and Copenhagen which, as well providing flexible travel between the two capitals, also means that passengers can take advantage of seamless connections to more than 80 destinations across the airline’s network.
Reflecting on the landmark anniversary, Mantas Vrubliauskas, VP Network Management at airBaltic said:
Over the past three decades, our flights between both capitals have provided customers with convenient and reliable travel options for both business and leisure. Copenhagen consistently ranks among our top destinations, and this summer season we will further expand our presence there by increasing frequencies to better meet our customers’ needs. We would like to express our sincere gratitude to our long-term partners, RIX Riga Airport and Copenhagen Airport, for their continued cooperation and support of airBaltic’s growth.”
Peter Krogsgaard, Chief Commercial Officer of Copenhagen Airport also commented:
We at CPH wish airBaltic many congratulations on achieving this milestone. We are delighted with the excellent cooperation we have had over these 30 years, and hope to see continued and expanded airBaltic links from CPH to the Baltic region long into the future.”
