Air Canada, Canada’s national airline and official airline of Team Canada, has begun a new advertising campaign in cooperation with athlete Tyler McGregor, captain of Canada’s Paralympic ice hockey team, as fewer than 10 days remain until the start of the Milano Cortina 2026 Winter Olympic and Paralympic Games.

Tyler’s Walk: Air Canada’s Latest Ad

Air Canada has released an advertisement, available to watch on YouTube, that tells the story of Tyler McGregor, an elite ice hockey player who suffered a life-changing diagnosis. It follows McGregor’s struggles to overcome many obstacles to become a Paralympian for Team Canada. The athlete commented the following regarding his journey:

“Hockey has always been a part of my life, and this is a reminder of the sheer grit and determination it has taken to get here. It’s an honour to have the chance to tell my story and shine a light on the passion and hard work that goes into wearing the maple leaf – not just during the Games, but every day.”

Martine Boulerice, Director of Brand Marketing, Sponsorships, Events and Quebec at Air Canada, said:

“We are immensely proud of Tyler’s Walk, which serves as a powerful reminder that the journey to greatness is often marked by incredible obstacles, and also extraordinary triumphs. This campaign represents more than just Tyler’s story, it’s about inspiring Canadians to believe in what’s possible, no matter the challenges they face.”

Air Canada: Supporting Team Canada and its Fans

As the official airline of the Canadian Olympic Team since 1988 and the Canadian Paralympic Team since 2007, Air Canada has mobilised its employees to support more than 750 coaches, athletes and delegation members on their journey to and from Italy, where they will represent Canada on the international stage. During every Olympic Games, the airline’s network coordinates athlete travel across multiple airport and ensures specialised handling of sports equipment and mobility devices.

Employees are set to welcome and provide special care to the athletes and delegates of Team Canada as they arrive at Montréal-Trudeau International Airport (YUL) to begin their journey to Milano Cortina, where the 2026 Winter Olympic and Paralympic Games will be held in under two weeks.

To connect Canadians further with the Games, Air Canada will also run content and fan engagement programmes featuring Team Air Canada Athlete Ambassadors, offering behind-the-scenes insights into athlete’s lives as they gear up to represent Canada. The airline will also run a national contest inspired by the ambassadors’ favourite destinations, offering fans complimentary trips as the grand prize.
