Russia isn’t known for many things non political, but when it comes to aviation Aeroflot is one of the biggest. Aeroflot is Russia’s flag carrier. They fly many routes around the world to destinations such as Asia, the America’s, and many intra European routes.

Aeroflot is set to be the latest carrier to operate the A350. Airbus’s brand new state of the art long haul aircraft. Aeroflot’s 2020 first quarter schedule states that the aircraft will be deployed on their highly sought after Moscow to New York route around March. The aircraft will then be sent to Beijing in May, followed by Seoul south Korea and Miami in June. If your looking to experience the A350 on some shorter less expensive routes Aeroflot will be operating them on some of their shorter routes to get crews familiarized with the new aircraft. Those routes have not been mentioned as of yet but are expected to be on some of the airline’s more revenue generating domestic routes.

Aeroflot is known to have a quite outdated business class, but is set to feature a 1-2-1 layout on the A350 which isn’t confirmed but will most likely be the final layout. If you don’t want to pay the high prices for business class you can try out the airlines premium economy seat which is in a 2-4-2 configuration which should offer a good amount of space between you and your seat mate. The other 264 seats of the A350 will be in a popular 3-3-3 layout and will most likely sport Aeroflot’s current economy seat look.

Aeroflot has purchased 14 of the Airbus A350 XWB aircraft. They are set to retire their aging A330 fleet with the new A350’s that they will be receiving. The A350 was originally supposed to enter the fleet in 2018 but due to financial troubles the delivery was delayed to early 2020. The A330 fleet will be finalizing it’s retirement by the end of 2021.
