Korean Air has announced a new four-year sponsorship agreement with the Centre for Excellence in Education (CEE), supporting students pursuing science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) studies. The partnership will provide scholarships for high achieving students and create opportunities for them to learn more about the aviation industry.

Funding scholarships for STEM students
Under the sponsorship, the airline will fund scholarships for students selected for the CEE’s Research Science Institute programme. The programme is one of the organisation’s top STEM initiatives and is designed specifically for high-achieving high school students.
The CEE is a US-based non-profit organisation and provides advanced STEM education programmes and networking opportunities with leading business executives. Korean Air said its support is to help develop future talent in scientific and technical fields.

Supporting the next generation of aviation studies
As part of the partnership, the airline will also host lectures on aviation technology, research and development at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in Boston. The sessions aim to provide students with practical insights into the aviation sector while completing their academic studies.
A Korean Air spokesperson said:
“Through this partnership, we look forward to providing international students with practical engagement opportunities while supporting academic programs that drive future industry innovation.”
The airline said the partnership will run for four years and support students through both educational and industry engagement opportunities. By combining funding and direct exposure to aviation research and innovation, Korean Air said it aims to help students gain a better understanding of potential careers in STEM fields.
