Lufthansa is facing new disruptions as cabin crew walk out for the third time in two months, grounding flights across its main German hubs, Frankfurt and Munich. The strike on Friday, April 10, 2026, affected services scheduled between 12:00 and 22:00 (CEST), with widespread cancellations expected.
Major Hubs Face Widespread Disruption
The industrial action has forced Lufthansa to cancel a significant number of flights, particularly short- and medium-haul services departing from its key hubs. Long-haul routes are also seeing knock-on delays and schedule changes as crews become unavailable. Operations at Frankfurt Main Airport (FRA) and Munich Franz Josef Strauss Airport (MUC) are among the hardest hit, as the airline works to manage reduced staffing levels during one of its busiest travel periods.
Passengers travelling through Frankfurt and Munich have been advised to check flight statuses in advance and allow extra time at the airport. The airline is offering rebooking options and alternative travel arrangements where possible.
The disruption comes at a time of strong spring travel demand, amplifying the impact on both business and leisure passengers.
Ongoing Dispute Behind Repeated Walkouts
The strike is part of an ongoing dispute between Lufthansa and its cabin crew over pay and working conditions, with tensions escalating in recent weeks. This marks the third walkout in 2026, highlighting growing tensions between staff and management.
Union representatives argue that employees are seeking improved compensation and better working terms amid rising living costs. Lufthansa, meanwhile, has warned that repeated strikes are placing pressure on operations and customer confidence.
