In November 2026, a new route, operated by Singapore Airlines (SIA), connecting Singapore to the new Western Sydney International (Nancy-Bird Walton) Airport (WSI) is set to launch.
The New Route and Schedule
The service between Singapore Changi Airport and WSI will run daily. The flight departs from Singapore at 11:30 a.m. local time, and arrives at WSI at 10:20 p.m. local time. The return flight leaves WSI at 11.55 p.m. local time, and lands in Singapore at 5:05 a.m. local time.
“Our 24-hour capacity, coupled with Singapore Airlines’ extensive global connectivity, will open our city to the world in new and exciting ways. From Sydney to Singapore and beyond, we are pleased to help herald this new era of aviation that will ultimately give Australian travellers more choice and flexibility on when, where, and how they choose to fly,” said Simon Hickey, the Chief Executive Officer of WSI.
The route will be operated by the airline’s Airbus A350-900 aircraft, which is used for medium-haul flights. The aircraft has a capacity of 303 seats spanning two classes, with 263 economy class seats, and 40 business class seats. Passengers will be able to begin booking SIA flights to and from WSI from 25 March, 2026.
SIA Operations in Australia
In addition to this new route, SIA already operates four daily flights between Singapore and Sydney Kingsford Smith Airport. WSI becomes SIA’s 8th Australian destination, in addition to Adelaide, Brisbane, Cairns, Darwin, Melbourne, Perth, Sydney Kingsford Smith.
“Singapore Airlines’ services to Australia’s newest gateway at Western Sydney will deliver more choice and strengthen connectivity to this popular destination for our customers. Western Sydney’s late-night departure capacity will enable a seamless travel journey and connections through Singapore Changi Airport, to more than 130 global destinations served by the SIA Group,” the Senior Vice President Marketing Planning, Dai Haoyu, said.
A part of the Greater Sydney area, of over 3 million residents, the new WSI airport located in western Sydney increases connectivity for passengers around Australia, and internationally. The new airport is close to outstanding natural beauty, just 30 minutes away from the UNESCO World Heritage site, The Blue Mountains. The Featherdale Sydney Wildlife Park is a 30 minute drive away, and offers its visitors a showcase of over 260 native Australian species.
Set to open its doors in late 2026, WSI will become Sydney’s first airport that operates on a 24-hour basis, allowing for added convenience and connectivity for its passengers.
