Brussels Airlines has announced a brand-new lounge, scheduled to open by the end of summer 2026, and will extend the opening hours of its Sunrise Lounge to accommodate premium passengers.

As of January 7th, 2026, THE LOFT will close for renovations predicted to last until the end of the summer. Located in the A-zone of Brussels Airport, the flagship and award-winning lounge will have a complete makeover, with further details on the renovation to be shared. In an effort to minimise disruption to passengers, a temporary version of the renowned lounge will be opened, known as the Pop-up LOFT.

Located near gate A27, the temporary lounge will measure approximately 200 m², capable of accommodating up to 67 guests. It will be open daily, from 05:00 AM till 09:00 PM, and operating with a smaller choice of food and beverages, due to the limited space. The Pop-up LOFT was designed by branding agency ‘We Want More’, who are working in support of Brussels Airlines updated branding.

Changes for the Sunrise Lounge

Additionally, to accommodate premium passengers during these renovations, the Sunrise Lounge will have its opening hours extended until the renovated lounge opens. Also located in the A-zone of Brussels Airport, this lounge is typically open to Business Class passengers traveling to sub-Saharan Africa, able to accommodate up to 150 passengers. Whilst the Sunrise Lounge normally closes at 01:00 PM, it will now reopen daily from 03:00 PM till 08:45 PM.

Yves Bernaerts, Lounge Manager for Brussels Airlines, shared:

“We are very excited about the makeover of THE LOFT and can’t wait to present the result to the public later. In the meantime, we’ve worked on temporary solutions to ensure our premium passengers continue to enjoy the best possible service during the renovation. We hope they will appreciate the Pop-up LOFT, and we’re confident that anticipation will only grow as we prepare to the reveal the new LOFT.”

However, due to these renovations, Brussels Airlines will offer less lounge capacity. Therefore, lounge access will not be sold separately, and third party guests will not be accepted temporarily. Nonetheless, once the renovated lounge opens, these temporary changes will be reverted.
