Emirates has been growing its fleet, announcing an order for eight additional Airbus A350-900 aircraft at the Dubai Airshow 2025 on Wednesday. These aircraft will be powered by Rolls-Royce Trent XWB84 engines.

$ 3.4 billion Airbus order

The latest order for the Airbus 350-900 aircraft is worth $ 3.4 billion. With this, Emirates’ A350-900 fleet is expected to grow to a total of 73 units when all deliveries are completed. So far, the airline has received delivery of 13 A350 aircraft. These additional A350-900s are expected to be delivered during 2031.

HH Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Chairman and Chief Executive, Emirates Airline and Group, said:

“The Emirates A350’s entry into service last November has given us welcome additional capacity. It has also enabled us to introduce Emirates’ latest in-flight products to more customers, including our popular Premium Economy seats. We look forward to working closely with Airbus on the delivery of our remaining aircraft, including the new units that we have ordered today.”

Emirates, earlier this week, had ordered  65 additional Boeing 777X airplanes, in a bid to increase its widebody aircraft fleet, with its new aircraft investments at the Dubai Airshow 2025 totalling $ 41.4 billion at list prices.

Commenting on this, the airline executive further said:

“Together with the additional Boeing 777-9 order announced earlier this week, Emirates now has a total of 375 units of the latest wide-body aircraft on its orderbook. This is a massive investment in our future, the future of flying better for our customers, as well as the future of aviation in terms of job and value creation.”

Emirates’ growing orderbook

The Dubai-headquartered airline has been growing its fleet of aircraft to support expansion. As of November 19, 2025, it is expecting 375 aircraft deliveries. These deliveries include 60 Airbus A350-900 aircraft. In terms of Boeing deliveries, counting its recent 777 family of aircraft orders, Emirates is expecting 315 Boeing aircraft deliveries. This includes ten Boeing 777-freighters, a whopping 270 Boeing 777-9 jets and 35 Boeing 787s.  Its current fleet of 269 aircraft includes 116 Airbus 116, 13 Airbus A380, 13 Airbus A250-900, 119 Boeing 777-300ER, 10 Boeing 777-200LR and 11 Boeing 777 freighters.
