Southwest Airlines (SWA) has announced a new packaged-vacation program called Getaways by Southwest, which offers customers boarding with the airline more perks, benefits and offers, and conveniently bundled vacation packages.

Southwest Airlines announces Getaways

Southwest Airlines’ launch of Getaways comes after extensive product development by the team at SWA. It will offer convenient and flexible vacation packages for passengers travelling with the airline. Passengers booking through the new vacation package will be able to access offers and perks such as checking in two bags for free (weight and size limits apply) and earn five Rapid Rewards points per dollar spent on travel bookings.

Bundle offers for packaged travel announced by SWA include hotels, air, car, and ground transportation options to help customers arrive conveniently at their chosen destinations are offered in the new program created by the airline. In case the customer’s trip needs to be cancelled, passengers can cancel packages and receive travel credits valid for 18 months to apply to a future vacation package booking. This offers customers the flexibility to change without paying a fee. Vice President Product Development at SWA, Phil Goeul, said:

“Getaways by Southwest expands what Customers love about Southwest—flexibility, an award-winning Rapid Rewards® loyalty program, and great perks—to the vacation experience.”

About Rapid Rewards Loyalty Program

Rapid Rewards is a loyalty program offered by the airline for frequent flyers with the airline. Passengers can earn points for flights and unlimited reward seats. Announced by SWA, booking with Getaways, customers boarding can earn even more per dollar per booking, which can be redeemed for future flights and trips, merchandise, hotel stays and gift cards.
