Etihad Airways hit a record aircraft deliveries in July, recorded the airline accelerated its growth.
Fleet Expansion Milestone
Etihad Airways achieved a milestone in July 2025 with its fleet expansion programme. The airline took delivery of five aircraft within a month, including its inaugural A321LR, two Boeing 787 Dreamliners, one Airbus A350-1000, and one Airbus A320. The deliveries marked the total fleet of the airline to 106. The new aircraft will support Etihad’s recently announced network expansion to 27 new spots, while enhancing frequencies in existing flights.
The delivery also made July the busiest month for aircraft deliveries for the airline after two decades of history. Marking a significant milestone that aligned with the airline’s commitment to grow and carry 38 million travellers per year by 2030.
The airline’s fleet expansion plan is expected to continue after July, with 20 additional aircraft to be added to the fleet throughout 2025 and 2026.
Modernising for a Global Network
The delivery programme also reflected Etihad’s aim to modernise its fleet, in order to use different aircraft types to serve specific networks. For instance, the Boeing 787 Dreamliner will fly for long-haul service to destinations in Asia, Australia, and North America. While the Airbus A350-1000 will help enhance capacity on high-demand routes.
Remarkably, Etihad took delivery of its first Airbus A321LR. The brand-new aircraft features dedicated First Suites, lie-flat Business seats, and enhanced Economy seating with entertainment consoles.
