Meanwhile, East Midlands Airport welcomed 492,000 passengers during the month, with a 12-month cumulative figure of four million. Known as the UK’s largest hub for freight, East Midlands also saw cargo volumes grow by 24.7% year-on-year, handling over 32,000 tons in June.

Future Investment

MAG reported continued strong operational performance, with all passengers at London Stansted clearing security in 15 minutes or less. At both Manchester Airport and East Midlands, 99% of passengers passed through security within the same timeframe.

These June performance figures were released following MAG’s annual results for the 2024/2025 financial year, during which the group handled 65 million passengers MAG had revenues of £1.3 billion and £570 million EBITDA, alongside an operating profit of £263 million.

The performance results were due to the group’s route networks and continued success of its global travel services business CAVU. MAG intends to invest more than £2.5 billion across all three of its airports in the next five years.
