Qatar Airways has announced that they will resume flights as the airspace over the State of Qatar has been re-opened. The airspace was temporarily closed as a direct consequence of growing conflict and tension in the Middle East.

Airspace in State of Qatar Re-Opens
Qatar airspace briefly closed to ensure the safety of residents and visitors alike, amid rising conflict in the Middle East. This decision was sparked by the 47th US President, Donald Trump, who ordered a military operation to target three Iranian nuclear facilities (Fordo, Natanz, and Isfahan).
In retaliation, Iranian forces attacked Al Udeid Air Base in Qatar – the United States’ largest military installation in the Middle East and the base of around 8,000 American personnel. This action was announced on state television.
With notice of this strike being given ahead of time, Qatar was able to intercept the missiles and there were no reported casualties. In precautionary measures, flights coming in and out of the State of Qatar were grounded. As a result, some airlines were forced to re-route or divert their operations mid-air, and many other carriers began to review alternative routes across the region.
On Monday night, Qatar Airways confirmed the reinstatement of their operations following the re-opening of airspace over the State of Qatar.
In a statement posted to X (previously Twitter), Qatar Airways said:
“Qatar Airways confirms reinstatement of flights as airspace reopens in the State of Qatar.

We’ve deployed extra ground staff at Hamad International Airport to support you as we resume operations.
