Cathay Pacific has introduced new non-stop flights between Hong Kong and Munich. This is the first time the airline has directly connected its home hub to the Bavarian capital. This is just one of nearly a hundred destinations the Hong Kong carrier will offer this summer.
Expanding their European footprint
These flights are expected to strengthen Cathay’s aims for a European presence. The airline reinforced its objective by launching its seasonal flights to Rome on 5 June and Brussels on 3 August. As a result, the Cathay Group has totalled 100 passenger destinations worldwide.
Alongside HK Express, Cathay Pacific has added 18 destinations to their passenger network in 2025, with more announcements expected to be revealed. In June, Cathay has enabled flights to Rome and Munich, meanwhile HK Express has launched services to Cheongju and Daegu. The carrier looks forward to revealing a new service towards Miyako (Shimojishima) next week.

Hong Kong to Munich
Cathay Pacific will operate this route using its modern Airbus A350-900 aircraft. Business Class will be provided with ‘fully flat beds’, while Premium Economy will have ‘spacious seats’ during the long-haul flight to the Bavarian capital.

The flight schedule is as follows:
- Hong Kong (HKG) to Munich (MUC) departure at 01:10, arrival at 07:55
- Munich (MUC) to Hong Kong (HKG) departure at 13:55, arrival at 06:55+1
- All flights take place on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday
Once the airline installs its service to Brussels in August, Cathay will operate close to 100 return flights per week to 12 different destinations in Europe during the summer’s peak. This includes Amsterdam, Barcelona, Frankfurt, London Heathrow, Madrid, Manchester, Milan, Paris, and Zurich.
Cathay Cargo also seeks to operate seven freighter flights a week between Europe this summer.
