WestJet announced two new routes: the return of direct flights between Edmonton International Airport (YEG) and Kamloops, B.C., and a route to Prince George, B.C. The service will begin in July. WestJet will run the flights twice weekly in the peak summer season.

Flights details

The route between Edmonton and Kamloops will run twice weekly starting on Jul 6 with aircraft Q400.

The route between Edmonton to Prince George will also run twice a week starting on Jul 5 with the same type of aircraft.

Apart from the seasonal services, the airline has also introduced two brand new domestic routes from Edmonton to Yellowknife and Nanaimo.

The route from Edmonton to Yellowknife will operate four times per week with Boeing 737 or Q400 starting on Jul 6.

The route from Edmonton to Nanaimo, on the other hand, will operate twice per week with Boeing 737 starting on Jul 5.

WestJet Executive Vice-President and Chief Commercial Officer John Weatherill said:

“Restoring service to Kamloops and introducing service to Prince George is a direct reflection of Canadians’ interest in exploring their own backyard this summer. With more flights and more seats in key Western Canadian markets, we’re giving Canadians better access to the destinations they rely on for business, leisure and visiting loved ones.”
