The new Allegris First-Class cabin is already bookable for flights from 30th March on routes Munich to San Francisco, Chicago, San Diego, Shanghai and Bengaluru. First Class travellers can also look forward to further improvements including First-Class check-in areas and a renovated lounge in Munich.
Extensive Improvements to Long-Haul Services Across All Classes
The new cabin product will also be launched in Economy, Premium Economy and Business Class on flights to New York-Newark from mid-April, and to Charlotte from the beginning of August.
Nine A350-900s featuring the new interior have already been flying for Lufthansa since February, eight of them featuring the new First-Class. Nearly half a million passengers across all classes have already flown on the upgraded aircraft.
The retrofitting of the current fleet with Lufthansa Allegris will commence this year, beginning with the Boeing 747-8.
Speaking of the improvements, Jens Ritter, Chief Executive Officer of Lufthansa Airlines said:
We are completely reinventing the Lufthansa First Class travel experience with Allegris and making it even more exclusive. Our new First Class, with its unique suites, defines the concept of privacy like never before and is unrivalled worldwide. We are also investing in exclusivity and comfort on the ground by completely redesigning our First Class check-in areas and lounges in Munich and Frankfurt.”
Further Service Improvements for all Passengers
The airline is also making further improvements to improve the passenger experience.
Travellers departing from Frankfurt can now use the Apple AirTag location function to provide the location of their AirTag via Lufthansa baggage tracing. In addition, starting this summer all passengers can take advantage of free chatting on intercontinental flights.
Lufthansa is also set to launch the “Future Onboard Experience”. The project, due to start in time for the airline’s 100th Birthday, will involve revising all service components on long-haul flights.
Additionally, since the end of February, Business Class passengers have experienced completely new menus featuring a wider choice of hot and cold dishes on short and medium-haul flights. The lounges in Newark and London Heathrow have also been redesigned, with the renovation of a further 30 lounges following this year.
