Embraer’s Expansion

Having announced a firm order last year, Embraer are set to deliver eight E190-E2s for Virgin Australia. This delivery is scheduled to begin in the second half of this year, as a part of Virgin Australia’s plans for fleet growth and renewal.

Raul Villaron, Vice President for Asia Pacific at Embraer Commercial Aviation, has said “Australia is a vital market for Embraer, and our presence at Avalon underscores our long-term commitment to the region.” This dedication to Australia comes as a result of the region being home to one of the largest E-Jets fleets in Asia-Pacific, presenting an opportunity for Embraer to build upon established partnerships and expand their presence.

There are nearly 50 Embraer E-Jets and 20 business jets operating in Australasia today. This newest fleet will serve as the latest addition to the roster, being based in Perth, Western Australia. The delivery of these aircraft aims to serve as a driving force of economic growth across Australia, and encourage greater connectivity between communities.

Embraer will soon be appearing at the Avalon Airshow, taking place on 25-30 March. At this event, the company is expected to simultaneously highlight their long-standing history with Australia, and promote their latest innovations.
