Emirates has signed a new agreement with Airbus to implement a new maintenance system. The new Skywise Fleet Performance+ (S.FP+) advanced predictive maintenance and fleet health monitoring solution. Together with the Core X3 analytics platform, it is predicted to help advance the airline’s services.

The new system uses strategic data-driven decision-making mechanisms to improve the availability of the Emirates fleet. With predictive technologies, Emirates engineers can monitor real-time aircraft performance and health data, identify potential issues in flight, and streamline maintenance. Over half of Emirates’ fleet, 254 aircraft, are Airbus models, including the A380 and A350. This addition could boost efficiency in the airline’s operations.

Emirates Engineering: Continuous Exploration in New Maintenance Technologies

With advanced analytics, Skywise Fleet Performance+ offers features such as automated pre-departure monitoring of aircraft conditions, real-time alerts, and comprehensive suggestions. The new system is predicted to maximise the fleet’s availability and boost efficiency in operation and maintenance.

Ahmed Safa, the head of Emirates Engineering, commented highly on this new implementation:

Emirates is always looking at ways to leverage leading-edge technologies that improve operational reliability and punctuality, minimise unscheduled downtime and ensure our fleet operates at the highest standards, ultimately elevating the customer experience.

Emirates Engineering always strives to implement cutting-edge technologies to ensure top-class services. Except for the implementation of this new maintenance system, they are also exploring ways to use virtual or augmented reality to aid with maintenance.
