airBaltic, Latvia’s national airline, has entered a strategic partnership with SUA Líneas Aéreas, a startup airline in the Latin American region. The collaboration will bring experience and technology to the startup, while introducing airBaltic to a new region.

Strategic partnership brings new opportunities

airBaltic collaborates with startup airline SUA Líneas Aéreas in a strategic partnership starting in 2025. The agreement includes a wet lease of up to five Airbus A220-300 aircraft, where in exchange airBaltic would share airline management technologies including fleet management techniques with the startup airline to help with their development. airBaltic in return gets an opportunity for regional development in Latin America. Antonio Rama, CEO of SUA Líneas Aéreas, has a positive outlook on this collaboration:

“Through this alliance, we will benefit from airBaltic’s expertise in key areas such as fleet management, operational efficiency, and staff training, equipping us with the tools needed to develop a customer-focused operation.”

SUA Líneas Aéreas is planned to start operations in the last quarter of 2025.

airBaltic: strong year to come in 2025

airBaltic has achieved various milestones in 2024, including record-breaking passenger numbers of 8.3 million and a few awards.

The airline is expecting further expansion and development in the coming year. With this strategic collaboration, airBaltic will expand its operations to Latin America. Flights connecting key cities across Uruguay, Argentina, Brazil, and Chile allow the airline to explore new market opportunities.
