Starting this month Tromsø, Norway will become a prime destination for travellers as British Airways have launched direct flights from London Heathrow (LHR). The route, which started on Dec. 1, 2024, allows passengers to visit the vibrant Arctic capital in a 3-hour, 45-minute flight out of London.
In a move to capitalise on the “growing winter leisure market”, this new Tromsø travel opportunity has become the airline’s northernmost destination. A bit about the new route
British Airways will operate flights twice a week, on Thursdays and Sundays, using the Airbus A320neo, a modern, low-noise-emissions aircraft. Sustainability-conscious passengers will be delighted to know that this particular aircraft boasts a 20% reduction in fuel consumption and CO2 emissions compared to its predecessor.
Flight BA 612 departs London Heathrow (LHR) twice a week. The outbound flight BA 612 departs from Heathrow at 08:25 on Thursdays and 08:15 on Sundays, arriving in Tromsø (TOS) at 13:00 and 12:50, respectively. Meanwhile, the return flight BA 613 leaves Tromsø at 14:00 on Thursdays and 13:40 on Sundays, landing back at Heathrow at 16:45 and 16:25.
