Air Canada recently hosted the Quebec morning show Salut Bonjour at its Montreal headquarters to celebrate the launch of the Passeport de Rêve draw, which supports Opération Enfant Soleil. As the presenting partner, Air Canada played a significant role in this event, which brought together employees, partners, and media to promote the draw that funds vital pediatric healthcare initiatives across Quebec.

Opération Enfant Soleil, a nonprofit organization, has been funding critical pediatric healthcare projects in Quebec for over 35 years. Air Canada’s involvement highlights the airline’s commitment to giving back to the communities it serves, particularly in supporting children facing serious health challenges.

Air Canada’s Deep Commitment to Community Health

Air Canada’s support of Opération Enfant Soleil is an extension of its broader corporate social responsibility efforts. The airline, through the Air Canada Foundation, actively contributes to healthcare programs and pediatric hospitals throughout Canada. This includes funding for state-of-the-art medical equipment, life-saving treatments, and specialized care. The airline’s involvement in these initiatives directly impacts children who face serious medical challenges, providing resources that enable them to receive the best possible care close to home.

Rebecca Smillie Nedelec, Director of Community Engagement at Air Canada Foundation, highlighted the company’s dedication to these causes, saying, “Our work with Opération Enfant Soleil aligns with our mission to support families in need, helping children overcome serious health obstacles and offering hope for their future.”

Impact of Air Canada’s Involvement in Fundraising

In 2023, the Passeport de Rêve draw raised a record $800,000, marking a significant milestone for the partnership. The funds have been directed toward projects that improve care in pediatric hospitals and regional health centers throughout Quebec. These projects are vital for ensuring that children receive the necessary treatments close to home, minimizing the disruption to families.

The airline’s continued involvement in such initiatives reinforces its leadership role in corporate philanthropy, focusing not only on business success but also on creating a positive social impact. The airline’s participation in this initiative showcases its broader corporate responsibility strategy, focusing on healthcare, education, and environmental sustainability.

Air Canada’s Unwavering support for Opération Enfant Soleil demonstrates its commitment to making real difference in pediatric healthcare.
