Croatia Airlines, a member of the Star Alliance group gets a major fleet renewal project and gets the first Airbus A220-300 delivery. Celebrating the airline’s 35th anniversary, the company has taken delivery of its first Airbus A220-300 at the Mirabel Airbus facility, in Canada. Moreover, the renewal project will be the biggest project to be done in the company’s history.

What is the Renewal Project About?

The renewal project is the first of its kind for the company.  The airline is rebranding with new visual aesthetics and ordering multiple Airbus A220-300s. The project is set to be completed in 2027 with Croatia Airliner set to receive a total of 15 aircraft. The company looks to replace the current and older generation aircrafts with new generation aircrafts from Airbus. This is a major step in the right direction as it increases comfort for passengers.

On the other hand, this initiative also reduces carbon footprint.  thanks to new technology by Airbus the airline will also be saving more fuel on the newer generation aircrafts.

The renewal embarks the airlines on a new development program for the company with goals to increase business efficiency as well as develop the already existing great visual identity in the country. The CEO of Croatia Airlines, Jasmin Bajić has spoken on the project:

The rebranding of Croatia’s flag carrier will increase the company’s visibility and recognition. It also highlights the importance of Croatia’s national identity and the role that Croatia Airlines has in the state of Croatia, while Croatia Airlines remains, according to renowned experts, one of the best brands in world aviation

The airline seems to be heading in a good direction. 2024 appears to be an awesome year for Airbus. In July, Airbus delivered 77 aircraft bringing its cumulative total for 2024 to 400. It also plans to add 59 more aircraft in the coming year.

What are your thoughts on this? Do you think the renewal project is all in the interest of passengers? Share your thoughts with us in the comments.
