In 2019, Turkish Airlines are expecting to receive 25 new B787-9s. Their brand new aircraft will work alongside 25 new A350 aircraft that will soon be joining the fleet. Turkish Airlines have already hinted at a new Business Class, so it was a real surprise when we saw these photos! The photos were believed to have been leaked by a Turkish Newspaper. Turkish Airlines are still yet to confirm this Leak.

Details About The New Seat

This new seat will mean that every passenger gets direct aisle access; this is big news! The layout of the seats follow the current Business trends by having the seats staggered. In fact, this essentially means that space is saved by placing your feet under the table of the person in front of you. The seat is based on the Stelia Solstys III seat by Stelia Aerospace. In the past, Turkish Airlines have hinted at the new seats would be more private and have direct aisle access, so these previews certainly live up to that!

New Business For A New Airport

Turkish Airlines are making a vast number of changes to their products, one of the changes being made is a brand new uniform. These changes are supposed to align with their move to  the new Istanbul Airport at the end of the year. Sadly, their new Business Class will not retrofitted to any of their existing aircraft, this means that it will be exclusive to their new Aircraft.

The new cabin uses similar seats to Singapore Airline’s current business class.

Turkish airlines announced their new uniform earlier this year. The uniform was based on the colour palate of Istanbul.

The new uniform’s Designer told a Turkish Newspaper:

“When I started to design for Turkish Airlines, the first thing that inspired me was Istanbul. This city has been a melting pot for art and civilization for centuries and has a rare richness as a common heritage of many cultures. I wanted to bring elements from traditional calligraphy and mosaics together with the new interpretations of Turkish motifs, which emphasize modern lines, into foulards and ties to reflect a contrast and duality.”

From what we can see in the images released by the newspaper, it looks like the new Business Class seat and layout that is currently used by Singapore Airlines. The Singapore Airlines 787-10  has a grand total of 30 business class seats in a 1-2-1 layout and each seat goes into a fully flat bed and has 30 inches in width. According to the seat map released by Turkish Airlines, their B787s will also have 30 seats.
