WestJet is ready and already prepping for the summer travel itinerary and has exciting news for travellers! Starting on May 11, 2025, the airline will launch a new nonstop service connecting Vancouver, BC, and Austin, Texas. This new route will operate three times a week, offering significant tourism and economic opportunities for both cities.

Flight Schedule

The flight schedule between the two cities departs at 6:00 p.m. and arrives at 12:17 a.m. from Vancouver to Austin. The returning flight from Austin to Vancouver scheduled around 8:00 a.m., arrives at 10:38 a.m. This in-short will boost the tourism and economy for both the cities.  Daniel Fajardo, WestJet‘s Vice-President of Network and Schedule Planning, expressed pride in expanding the airline’s service across Western Canada. He highlighted the benefits of this new connection, which will provide a convenient and affordable way for travellers to explore Austin’s vibrant music scene and renowned culinary culture. Additionally, U.S.-based guests will gain easy access to Vancouver, one of Canada’s most iconic cities.

Russ Atkinson, Director of Air Service Development at Vancouver International Airport (YVR), welcomed the new route, noting Austin’s reputation as a top destination for live music. This addition builds on existing connections and complements WestJet’s expanded summer service, which includes new nonstop flights from Vancouver to Boston, MA, and Tampa, FL.

WestJet’s summer 2025 schedule reveals significant growth, with the airline serving 15 U.S. destinations from Vancouver and offering up to 93 weekly departures during peak travel times. This expansion underscores WestJet’s commitment to enhancing connectivity and providing more travel options for its customers.

Moreover, the airline has expanded its operations across Saskatchewan with a 20% increase in seat capacity for its summer 2025 schedule.
