However, the Boeing 737 MAX is still being reviewed by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) along with other civil aviation authorities  and other airlines from around the world.

What has American Airlines Said?

Arah Jantz, American Airlines spokeswoman said:

“We have not made any definitive plans regarding the MAX. We have initiated the pilot training scheduling process, which can be canceled if the MAX is not re certified. We remain in contact with the FAA and Boeing on the re certification process.”

American Airlines Boeing 737 MAX jets have been parked in Tulsa for long-term storage since it was grounded in March 2019 following two fatal crashes.

The Director of Flight Training & Planning & Scheduling said:

“With the planned return to service for our B737 MAX aircraft in the near future, we will begin conducting B737 MAX Special Training for our B737 pilots.”
