Kazakh airline Air Astana has expanded its China network with direct flights from Astana to Guangzhou. The route, which was launched yesterday, operates on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

Developing Connectivity
The expansion of its China network demonstrates Air Astana’s growing presence in the East-Asian country. The airline has been flying to China since December 2002 when it launched flights between Almaty and Beijing. Its Almaty and Guangzhou route has also operated since March 2025 with five flights weekly, and the airline planning to increase frequencies on its other China routes, including services between Almaty and Urumqi, Guangzhou, Shanghai, Sanya and Yining, as well as between the capital Astana and Beijing and Urumqi.
This increase in frequency, due to take place during the Summer 2026 season, means 51 flights between Kazakhstan and China will take off every week, the highest number in the airline’s history.
The Astana to Guangzhou service will depart Astana at 18.45 and arrive in Guangzhou at 04:30 local time and will be operated using Airbus A321LR aircraft.
