Air Canada has announced that it will be upgrading its regional operations and fleet, offering its customers more comfort and convenience.

Under this major programme, the 25 De Havilland Dash 8-400 aircraft, operated for Air Canada Express by Jazz Aviation LP, will undergo a complete redesign of their cabin and interiors.
On the occasion of this announcement, Mark Nasr, Executive Vice President and Chief Operations Officer at Air Canada, said, ” Air Canada Express is at the heart of how we serve Canadian communities. It brings people together, whether connecting families across the country or linking businesses to the world through our global network. This innovative project is an industry-first, and it reflects the pride we take in serving customers with care and class. By bringing many of the design details and comforts of our largest jets to the Canadian-made Dash 8-400, even our shortest flights can feel special.”
In addition to this, Doug Clarke, President of Jazz- Air Canada’s regional operator, said, ” We’re pleased to partner with Air Canada on these exciting upgrades to our Dash 8-400 fleet, “This investment in innovative seating, refreshed cabin interiors, and industry-leading onboard Wi-Fi reflects our shared commitment to safety, operational excellence, and delivering exceptional customer service.”
New Experience with Air Canada’s regional fleet
The refurbishment of Air Canada’s Jazz Dash 8-400 will occur in phases throughout 2026.
The major changes in the aircraft include:
In-flight Wi-Fi at Billy Bishop
Air Canada will be the first airline to offer Fast, Free Wi-Fi to passengers at the Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport. The customers will also have gate-to-gate connectivity.
In addition to this, Wi-Fi will also be available on a De Havilland Dash 8-400 aircraft type, making it the first in the world.
New Seating
Twenty-five Air Canada Express Dash 8-400 operated by Jazz will be refurbished with next-gen, well-padded, ergonomic seats from Expliseat.
Moreover, the seat will also be equipped with new branding and design language, a seatback multi-use device holder for tablets and phones and a table tray.
Cabin Interior Redesign
The cabins of this aircraft will be redesigned to a new standard reflective of Air Canada’s mainline aircraft interiors.
The design also includes colours, textures and tones which are found in nature in Canada, as the airline is the nation’s flag carrier.
