Their journey with Bristol Airport

easyJet celebrated its long-standing partnership in boarding passengers to and from Bristol airport, having begun its operations in May 2001 and subsequently opening its airline base, with routes to Faro, Majorca, and Nice.

In June 2025, easyJet announced new routes for customers to include in their travel adventures, such as Palermo and Almeria. New and exciting winter routes to Munich, Vienna, Zurich, and Verona were also announced by the airline. With this, the airline will connect flyers in the South West to the UK, Europe and North Africa, across 85 destinations.

Dave Lees, Bristol Airport CEO, said:

“Together we’ve offered customers a wide choice of destinations while continuing to welcome their quieter and more efficient Airbus aircraft, which contain many components designed right here in the West of England. We look forward to continuing to grow our network, deliver even more fantastic holidays, and enable millions more easyJet passengers in the years to come to fly from their local airport.”

easyJet awarded two lucky travellers

The low-cost airline celebrated operating exciting holidays for over 80 million passengers by awarding two lucky travellers boarding from Bristol a return flight to a destination of their choice with it.

Aviation Minister Mike Kane shares with easyJet:

“It’s fantastic to see leading British airline easyJet reach this incredible milestone, which means travel opportunities for passengers are continuing to grow at Bristol airport. The continued investment from easyJet and the airport in the South West is expanding trade and tourism in the region, boosting economic growth, and supporting jobs across the UK.”

Lucky winners Kate Sibbald and Alex Coomber from Cardiff were travelling with easyJet to Geneva and won the return flights to anywhere on the airline’s route network to celebrate its huge milestone.

Connecting destinations across the network

The milestone comes as easyJet recently added its 19th Bristol-based aircraft in June. The budget airline had announced the addition of the Airbus A320neo to its fleet. The aircraft features over 180 seats and meets the demand of customers in the South West.

Aviation Minister Mike Kane applauded the airline for its investments into the Aviation sector by funding jobs, supporting careers, and making travel convenient and accessible for all travellers.
