Stephanie Wear has been named the new Chief Commercial Officer (CCO) at Edinburgh Airport. The airport announced that her appointment will take effect on Sept. 1, 2025.
New Chief Commercial Officer
Stephanie Wear has served as the vice president of aviation development since November 2021 at London Gatwick Airport. The airport is part of the VINCI Airports network. Following her arrival is the departure of Edinburgh Airport’s current CCO, Gail Taylor, who will be joining Sydney Airport as a Commercial Project Director. London Gatwick Airport, Edinburgh Airport and Sydney Airport are all owned by the same investors. However, Sydney Airport is mainly owned by Sydney Aviation Alliance, a consortium that includes GIP but not VINCI. This means Stephanie Wear and Gail Taylor remain in the same broad network of airports owned by VINCI Airports and Global Infrastructure Partners (GIP).
Gordon Dewar, the chief executive of Edinburgh Airport, congratulated Gail Taylor on her new role at Sydney Airport, stating that she has been an integral part of the airport’s success and a driving force behind the retail and commercial outlook of the airport. He stated that she will be joining an airport she already feels familiar with, given her previous experience working at GIP in Edinburgh. He also welcomed Stephanie Wear and her wealth of experience in senior positions both domestically and internationally. Stephanie Wear felt very honoured to be designated as the new CCO at Edinburgh Airport, stating that she looked forward to working with the talented teams at the Airport. She said:
“I will work to help build on the outstanding successes achieved to help grow passenger numbers, attract new airlines, deliver an exceptional passenger experience, strengthen our commercial strategy, and continue building an airport that is not only a vital transport hub, but a world-class destination in its own right.”
She further added:
“Aviation has always been about connection, and I’m excited to help shape the future of Scotland’s busiest airport that connects people, places, and possibilities every single day.”
About Edinburgh Airport
Dating back to 1916 when it was once a military base, Edinburgh Airport began its commercial service in 1947, with the first runway being built in the early years of the Second World War. Its first official terminal was opened to the public in 1977 by Queen Elizabeth II, under the ownership of the British Airports Authority (BAA). In 2012, GIP took over the airport from BAA, which led to new routes being added and improved passenger facilities, including a multi-million pound terminal expansion. In April 2024, VINCI Airports acquired 50.01% ownership of the airport, and GIP took over the remaining 49.99%. As of 2025, Edinburgh Airport has a network of over 150 destinations worldwide and is the busiest airport in Scotland.
