Star Alliance has opened its first branded lounge in Asia at Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport (CAN) in Guangzhou, China. The lounge, located in Terminal 1’s international area, is now available to First and Business Class passengers and Star Alliance Gold members, making comfort travel experience.
A Space for Comfort In Star Alliance Lounge
The lounge spans 750 square meters and accommodates up to 100 guests. With an open layout and a glass façade offering tarmac views, but the space is filled with natural light. Also, amenities include workstations, comfortable seating, and a private 100-square-meter VIP room for meetings. Shower suites are also available, allowing travelers to refresh before their flights.
Conveniently situated near departure gates, the lounge operates 24/7 to cater to various flight schedules.
Celebrating Local Culture
In addition, the lounge reflects Guangzhou’s culture with art from local artists and a Tea Appreciation Corner for guests to explore regional tea traditions. Finally, dining options feature light bites and local cuisine, while a dedicated bar offers curated drinks throughout the day.
In a statement to Travel Radar, Ambar Franco, Vice President for Customer Experience at Star Alliance said:
“Our first branded lounge in Asia represents an exciting milestone, it’s designed to blend comfort and functionality for modern travelers.”
Guangzhou’s Growing Role in Aviation
However, Guangzhou is a key hub in Asia and home to 10 Star Alliance member airlines, including Singapore Airlines, Air China, and ANA. These carriers offer 774 weekly departures to 50 destinations in 10 countries.
Futhermore, the lounge is operated by Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport Business Travel Service Co., Ltd. Plans are underway for another Star Alliance lounge in the upcoming Terminal 3, further strengthening the alliance’s presence in Asia.
“The new lounge underscores Guangzhou Baiyun Airport’s importance as an international hub,” said Qi Yaoming, Deputy General Manager of the airport.
“We remain committed to providing world-class service for Star Alliance and its member airlines.”
