Air Serbia reached an outstanding milestone in July 2024 transporting 548.009 passengers noting a 7% growth compared to last year. This impressive rise followed by a 6,8%  increase in scheduled flight underlines the airline’s dynamic profile combining excellence and expansion. More particularly, Air Serbia’s most in-demand flights in Western Europe included Valencia, Malaga and Palma de Mallorca. Similarly, in the Euro-mediterranean region destinations such as Larnaca, Heraklion, Istanbul, Izmir, Corfu, and Rhodes ranked at the top. Moreover, flights to Tianjin, China completed Air Serbia’s unsurpassed list showcasing its unstoppable growth and competitive character. The company’s general manager Boško Rupić noted :

“Considering that by June last year we had expanded our network with more than 20 new destinations, July 2023 was a record month so far in terms of the number of passengers carried and flights operated.”

Future Plans for Fleet Growth

Following Air Serbia’s success with the increase of the number of passengers and flight destinations the carrier plans to expand its fleet by adding seven aircrafts by 2025. According to the CEO Jiri Marek,  over the past years they completely renewed the ATR fleet and expanded it to a total of ten aircraft.  the ten-member ATR72-600 fleet is adequate to meet its requirements for regional operations. The carrier plans to further increase the number of Embraer jets, in addition to the incoming two, seeking to replace existing Airbus A319s with A320s once their lease agreements expires. Moreover, depending on operational requirements the airbus A320 maybe  replaced  by Boeing 737-800 aircraft. In total, Air Serbia’s CEO Jiri Marek did not desire to set a limit on the number of aircraft the company may include.  As the airline’s fleet soars promises a new era of unstoppable growth and operational excellence.
