Scandinavian Airlines (SAS) is set to increase its operations at Copenhagen Airport with a significant expansion for the summer 2025 season. The airline will be introducing new destinations and leisure routes. This strategic expansion aims to solidify Copenhagen’s role as a key travel hub in Northern Europe and improve connectivity across Scandinavia.
New Destinations
As part of its expansion, SAS will be adding two new destinations to its summer schedule. Wroclaw in Poland and Bilbao in Spain will join the airline’s network, bringing the total number of new routes from Copenhagen to 19. The upcoming summer season will be full of choice for customers travelling from the popular transit hub in Copenhagen.

With the addition of Wroclaw and Bilbao, along with the launch of 19 new routes from Copenhagen, we remain committed to enhancing connectivity and meeting the diverse travel preferences of our customers. Copenhagen continues to serve as a pivotal international gateway to and from Scandinavia and Northern Europe.
In addition to the new city destinations of Wroclaw and Bilbao, SAS will also introduce five new leisure routes. The enhanced summer schedule aims at providing travelers with more holiday options and greater accessibility to popular destinations during the peak travel season.
Copenhagen will gain two new leisure routes. Cagliari, the capital of Sardinia as well as Varna, located on Bulgaria’s Black Sea coast will join the expansion of operations in Copenhagen. Both destinations will be sure to excite holidaymakers. Meanwhile, Norway and Sweden are also set to gain new routes. Oslo will operate direct flights to the Greek island of Rhodes. Bergen will connect directly to Málaga-Costa del Sol in Spain. Finally, the Swedish capital of Stockholm will introduce a new route to Bodø in northern Norway.
These additions will expand SAS’s summer network to encompass 240 routes, with 108 originating from Copenhagen alone. With these developments, SAS is significantly strengthening its operational footprint in its principal hub of Copenhagen. The expansion proves SAS’ commitment to meeting diverse travel needs and reinforces Copenhagen’s status as a vital international hub.
