Chennai Airport recognised as the World’s eighth airport for On-Time performance

Chennai Airport has been ranked as the world’s eighth airport for on-time performance.

On-time performance is an important measure in ranking the airports.  This is a key indicator of airport’s focus to standards and passenger services.

Airports Authority of India, Chennai thanks all operating airlines for this recognition.

Airports Authority of India, Chennai director Dr. Sharad Kumar gave this credit to all operating airlines.

“Stake holder engagement and collaborative decision making in airport processes has helped us gain passenger and industry confidence” says Dr. Sharad Kumar.

“Air travel is gaining passenger confidence once again.  We are anticipating increased foot-falls and accordingly augmenting our facilities and services.  Traffic figures indicate more than 80 per cent recovery in domestic traffic.  All our service partners are enthusiastic and eager to welcome intentional scheduled flights.  Chennai airport has worked out detailed plans to enhance operational capacity together with customer delight” he added.

Interesting facilities viz., per hour handling capacity, new buildings construction etc., are on the anvil, TR understands.

The Airports Authority of India, Chennai continuously strives towards excellence when it comes to passenger services and amenities and this ranking should boost AAI’s confidence.
