Vistara has launched a daily flight to Muscat, Oman’s port capital city, from India’s largest, Mumbai. The introduction of the new service further establishes the airline’s presence in the Middle East and bridges the gap between the Middle East and Asia.
With a consistent increase in demand for travel between India and the Gulf region, this latest route addition is a step in the right direction.
Vistara’s CEO Vinod Kannan revealed in a statement that the airline’s action is in line with its goal to steadily enhance its footprint in the Gulf region:
“The launch of operations to Muscat is in line with our goal to steadily enhance our footprint in the Middle East. The firm bilateral relationship and robust cultural and economic ties between India and states in the Gulf region have given great impetus to our growth plans, and our successful business on the other Middle Eastern routes is a testament to that. We are excited to bring India’s finest full-service carrier to Muscat with daily connectivity from Mumbai and are confident that Vistara with its award-winning product and services, will be a much-preferred carrier on this route as well.”
Flight to Muscat is Not the First in the Gulf
The newly inaugurated Mumbai to Muscat flight may be Vistara’s first between the two cities, but definitely not its first in the gulf region. Muscat is the third city in the gulf that the airline has added to its network in the last four months.

In August and October 2022 alone, the airline launched Mumbai to Jeddah and Abu Dhabi, respectively; it also operates daily flights to Dubai from Mumbai. The India flag carrier also recently launched Mumbai-Dhaka and Pune-Singapore routes as part of its efforts to enlarge its regional international presence.
The Mumbai-Muscat flight will be a daily non-stop service on its Airbus A320. Below is what the schedule of daily flights looks like:
- Mumbai-Muscat – Flight UK0233
- Daily Departure: 20:00 –Daily Arrival –21:35
- Muscat-Mumbai –Flight UK0234
- Daily Departure: 22:55 –Daily Arrival –03:10
In addition to the economy and business class, the airline will also offer premium economy seats and will be the only carrier on the route making this offer.
